HISTORY
Westcon Easy Snap Forming Tie has a deep and rich history.

Tate always kept in mind the need for contractors to keep the initial cost outlay as low as possible and to be eifficient and allow them maximize profit on every project, along with pouring high quality and solid basement foundations. The Westcon system received Patent approval and production started in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada in the late 1950's.

In 1969, a new facility was opened in Guelph, Ontario, Canada and production was transferred to this facility where it remains today.
Tate Given partnered with his brother-in-law Peter Clarke to grow the business steadily.
In 1985 Westcon was sold to the Drew family. Bryan Drew enhanced the Westcon product line by developing foam and structural tie designs.
Foam ties were designed to make form cleaning much easier and less labour intensive, extend to the useful life of the forms and provide an effective assembly aid.

Structural ties were designed for agricultural buildings that benefit from heat retention. Today this tie design is being enhanced to provide a low cost alternative to ICFs where heat loss is a concern to the owner.
In 2019, Westcon was purchased by Tim and Karole Hyland who carried on the great Westcon tradition started by Tate Given

In May 2025, Westcon began it's next chapter. Three private investor/operators from Ontario and Michigan bought Westcon from the Hylands.
